The iPhone 14 series is very popular. Users are generally satisfied. But some users have experienced a worrying problem. A significant number of people are reporting the issue on Reddit and elsewhere. Green and yellow horizontal lines appeared on their screens. The number and colors of the horizontal lines appears to vary. Also, this bug has been reported among users of the iPhone 14 Pro series. Apple said this is a software bug.
This bug seems to be found in the iPhone 14 Pro series
After iOS 16.2, some iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models started to show horizontal lines like the one above. According to users, these appear when unlocking or turning on the phone and look quite scary at first. According to the statement made by Apple, this problem is not hardware, which is pleasing. In other words, there is no technical problem with the screens of these devices. As far as it is said, there is a “software driver problem” and this will be completely eliminated with the next iOS update.
The lines scared many people because iPhones and some other smartphones can occasionally develop permanent lines (usually vertical), which usually require repair or replacement because they are caused by a hardware problem. Some users took their devices to Apple stores for testing. The test revealed that the fault was not hardware. Instead, Apple says, it’s an iOS glitch.
Many people are pleased that there is no hardware problem this time. It is not yet known when the iOS update that will solve the problem specific to iPhone 14 Pro models will be released. Apple is currently beta testing iOS 16.3, which was developed on iOS 16.2, which revealed the problem. This version is expected to be released in the first weeks of 2023, but this is not certain yet.
